In addition to Academy Prep’s nine full-time academic faculty members, Academy Prep partners with the AmeriCorps Notre Dame Mission Volunteers program to bring additional Teaching Fellows to our school. Each year, 6-7 AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows call Academy Prep home, living on campus in comfortable, spacious, fully-furnished apartments with rent and utilities covered by Academy Prep.
AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows are an integral part of Academy Prep: they teach academic electives such as Spanish and STEM, conduct academic support sessions in Reading and Math for individual scholars, serve meals, supervise recess, and lead afternoon enrichment activities like Chess, Cooking, Golf, and Tennis. Academy Prep’s Teaching Fellows bring to our campus a wide array of talents, backgrounds, and areas of expertise, and enable us to offer each and every scholar abundant opportunities to identify new passions in a supportive learning environment.
